ChangFei industrial switch from function to performance, bright spots, surprises!

Industrial switches are a small piece of automation, a narrow field that few vendors focused on ten years ago. As automation gradually matures and rises with the extensive use of industrial Ethernet and the establishment of large-scale industrial control networks, industrial-grade switches are different from ordinary switches. Industrial-grade switches are planned and selected in components. In terms of strength and applicability, it can meet the needs of industrial sites.

Switches are definitely not unfamiliar to friends who do security, but everyone may not know the characteristics of industrial switches. Switches can be divided into commercial switches and industrial switches. Let’s see what is the difference between them?

Appearance difference:Industrial Ethernet switches generally use fanless metal shells to dissipate heat, and the strength is relatively high.Ordinary switches generally use plastic shells and fans to dissipate heat. Intensity is low.

Power Design Differences:Ordinary switches basically have a single power supply, while industrial switches generally have dual power supplies to back up each other.

Installation method difference:Industrial Ethernet switches can be installed in rails, racks, etc., while ordinary switches are generally racks and desktops.

The ability to use the environment is not identical.:The industrial switch adapts to a low temperature of -40°C to 85°C, and has excellent dust-proof and moisture-proof capabilities. The protection level is above IP40. It is widely used and can be installed and used in any harsh conditions. Generally speaking, the working temperature of ordinary switches is between 0°C and 50°C, and there is basically no dust-proof and moisture-proof capability, and the protection level is relatively poor.

Service life varies:The service life of industrial exchanges is generally more than 10 years, while the service life of ordinary commercial switches is only 3 to 5 years. The service life is different, which is related to the maintenance in the middle of the project. For video transmission in network monitoring environments such as parking lots, and in those environments that require high-definition video output, industrial switches or switches whose performance needs to be comparable to industrial grades should be selected.

Other reference indices:The voltage used by industrial switches is different from that of ordinary switches. Industrial switches can be limited to DC24V, DC110V, and AC220V, while ordinary switches can only work at AC220V voltage, and industrial switches are mainly in ring network mode. use and maintenance costs.
